TO INSTALL JOOMLA TEMPLATE AT LOCAL HOST
- Run the file xampp-win32-1.6.6a-installer.exe
- Unzip to wampp directory.
- Move xampp directory to C driver.
- For beginning the localhost, run the file xampp_start.exe in path C:\xampp
- Make shortcut to the Desktop (of the file xampp_start.exe) and copy it to Start-up if you want run the localhost automatically.
- Minimize that running windows to the Toolbar.
- Go to C:\xampp\htdocs directory.
- This is the root directory of your local server
- Delete all the exist file.

- 3.1. Preparation
- Unzip the Joomla file that you have just downloaded.
- After delete all the files in last step, Copy all the files and directories to C:\xampp\htdocs.
- 3.2. Installation
- Run the Internet Browser.
- Type the url: http://localhost
- Go to installation by step to step:
- Attent the parameters:
- Hostname: localhost - MySQL User Name: root - MySQL Password: leave empty - MySQL Database Name: anything - Type the Tittle for your website (Ex: Welcome to DesignForJoomla site).
- Leave your Email address (Ex:
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
).
- Replace the Admin password (Remember note it in paper) -> Next -> View Site
- Go to C:\xampp\htdocs directory.
- Delete the Installation directory.
- Back to the browser and refresh the site (http://localhost/)

- Type url: http://localhost/administrator
- User: admin
- Pass: Admin password that you have noted above.

- 5.1 Download a free template Example:

- Extract the template file (Unzip it)
- There are 4 directories (1. Source, 2. Prepare, 3. Convert, 4. Description). The installation file is in the 3. Convert directory.
- 5.2. Install the template
- Go to Installers -> Templates -> Site.
- Browse.
- Choose the path of the template file that you have downloaded above.
- If you see the notice:
- Press Continue and you have finished the installation.
- Note: When you install in your server, there are some errors could happen.
- If the notice is:
- (*) Failed to create directory “var/www/vhosts/xyz/templates/business/"
- Solution: -> Make your templates directory writable.
- If you have used Linux server, use chmod command to change the templates directory to 777.
- If the notice is:
- (*) There is already a file called C:\xampp\htdocs\templates\business\index.php - Are you trying to install the same CMT twice?
- Solution: Go to C:\xampp\htdocs, delete the exist business directory.
- In the Template Manager page.
- Choose the installed template (Examble: business).
- Press Default.
- Finally refresh your site (Go to url: http://localhost) and relax with it.
